Our School Council
School Council
We are here to give every child in the school a voice and to represent their needs and interests. This year we have spoken to the PTFA who generously gave us money to buy resources that the school asked for. We support and encourage reading and organised special events for World Book Day, including 'carry a book' and a 'book swap'. Some of the school council are also librarians and enjoy helping other children enjoy reading as much as they do!
We make sure we follow the British Values…
Democracy (everyone gets a voice)
Tolerance (we are patient and understanding of others needs and behaviours that might be different to ours)
Respect (we care about the wishes and beliefs of others)
Liberty (we are free to think and feel how we wish)
Rule of Law (we follow and respect the school rules and values)
We also want to be better GLOBAL CITIZENS by showing courageous advocacy for others. Our school's vision is to be ‘world-ready citizens’ so we organise events to help us understand the world better and support people who aren’t as lucky as us.
This year we have supported:
Comic Relief – we wore red and did something funny to support people in poverty across the world! We raised over £500!
Children in Need – the whole school did burpees all week and we raised nearly £600 for children in the UK and abroad.
Pyjamarama Day (upcoming) for the charity ‘Children with Cancer’ where we wore pyjamas all day and raised awareness and money for an important charity.
Our school values are COMPASSION, ASPIRATION and RESPECT and the school council were chosen because we always try our best to show these values.
