Week 8 (2.06.2020)

Hello Alps Class! I hope you have had a wonderful sunny half term and taken part in some fun family activities. I have spent my week on my allotment making murals inside and outside the shed, planting beans, tomatoes and weeding. I have also been doing lots of craft activities and made another patchwork quilt on my sewing machine. My boys have had lots of water fights and enjoyed seeing our first hedgehog of the year in our garden. It is a shorter week this week but I hope you enjoy the fun activities I have planned for you. Mrs Frost

Phonics- Please continue to support your child in learning the tricky and high frequency words that are so important. Please work at his/ her own level and remember your child needs to be able to read and write the words independently. Have fun!

Our book this week is 'Oliver's Vegetables' by Vivian French. I have placed it in the 'storys for you all to enjoy' star for your child to listen to before starting the activities. It carries on from our last piece of work on healthy eating. It should be lots of fun!

Year 1 children- Can you write out the story in order, similar to the Hungry Caterpillar work before half term. 'On MondayOliver found ......' PSHE - how school will be a little different. If your child is returning to school this month I have provided a powerpoint to help you explain what social distancing is and how school will be a little different than before. I hope this helps.

Geography and Design - design your own allotment like Grandpa in the story! If you have your own allotment or vegetable patch you could spend the afternoon looking after it and send me a photograph!

Geography and Food activity- Can you user the beginning of this powerpoint to find out where in the world different foods come from? Can you draw the fruit or vegetable and write about where it is from in your exercise books. Have fun learning about different countries too!
