Week 7 (18.05.2020)

Hello Alps Class! Welcome to another week! I hope you had a wonderful weekend in the sunshine. I was on my allotment again and we planted more potatoes, courgettes, strawberries and beans. We made paths between the beds, tidied our greenhouses and did a lot of digging and weeding. I made some bunting for the allotment on my sewing machine and we planted sunflowers too! We made a den to keep cool in the shade but guess who went to sleep in it? Yes, it was my cat Trev! Have a great week Alps class and I miss you all. Mrs Frost

Literacy - Our book this week is 'The Hungry Caterpillar'. I have read the story for everyone under the Story Star on our website if you do not have the book at home. I hope you like it! Once you have read or heard the story please can you do a book review for Monday's task. Enjoy!

Tuesday 19th May - A few weeks ago your home learning task was to sequence the life cycle of a caterpillar. Can you now write about this for your writing task this week. Have fun!

Wednesday 20th-Thursday 21st May- Please can you spend the next two days re-writing the story of 'The Hungry Caterpillar'. I have put on some sheets for the reception children to use and some writing paper for the Year 1 children to use if they would like it. Please use your exercise books if you would rather though. Enjoy story writing and remember your punctuation and tricky words.

Friday 22nd May 2020 - The Hungry Caterpillar has come into your home and started eating through your fruit and food! Can you draw a picture and write a newspaper article all about it! Have fun reporters!

Mathematics this week is linked to our book 'The Hungry Caterpillar' and we are learning about symmetry. The children will have great fun getting to grips with this hands on topic.

Afternoon Activities - All based on your story The Hungry Caterpillar and keeping your body healthy! (Don't forget to do the food diary everyday this week)
