Thank you to all parents / carers who attended our cross curriculum open morning which was held on Friday 3rd November across the whole school. There was a rich display of learning taking place across the school with both parents and children interacting together to solve an array of challenging problems. Below is an outline of the morning sessions that were held across the school
Alps Class (Reception / Year 1) – Designing and constructing our own forms of transport.
Rockies Class (Year 2 / 3) – Instruction writing linked to the recent ‘Egyptian Day’ experience
Himalayas Class (Year 4/5) – Scientific investigation into the opposing forces of Air resistance and Gravity
Pyrenees Class (Year 6) – Applying our understanding of Area and Perimeter to map out a classroom setting.
The morning showed how the primary curriculum is being delivered at Lady Seaward's and how there is a specific focus being placed on the pupils being given opportunities to apply their key skills, knowledge and understanding across engaging contextualised settings.
The school will be running further open mornings across the year linked to specific curriculum areas with the next session being planned for the Spring term.
