In aid of the National Deaf Children’s Society
Lady Seaward’s rose up to the challenge of attempting to run a marathon in support of the National Deaf Children’s Society. The target was initially to accumulate the total distance of 26.2 miles together as a school. However with inspiring displays of unbelievable effort and determination the children amassed a staggering distance of 4 Marathons, running over 100 miles for the charity. This event has been inspired by Mrs Webb who is aiming to complete the London Marathon later this year and who will be continuing to raise more funds for this charity.
The day was great fun and showed the perseverance of all children towards achieving our common goal as well as celebrating the idea of exercise and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Our pupils have also been busily gathering sponsorship money from family and friends of the Lady Seaward’s Community for running nominated distances. Collectively, the pupils have amassed a staggering £1200 for the National Deaf Children’s Society which is again an unbelievable achievement and one which all the children across the school should be commended for. A true reflection of how passionately they have embarked upon this charity initiative to help others who are in need. Well done Lady Seaward’s and a huge thank you for everyone for their tremendous support!
